Follow the steps below to configure Netscape Mail 6.x to send and receive email.
How to Set Up Netscape Mail 6.x for Windows to Send and Receive Email
  1. You will need your email server settings to set up your email program. Print or write down the information that is displayed for use during this walkthrough.
  1. Open Netscape 6.0.
  2. From the Tasks menu, choose Mail & Newsgroups

  1. Select ISP or email provider.
  2. Click the Next button

  1. In the Your Name field, type in your name.
  2. In the Email Address field, type your full email address (e.g., sample@yourdomain.com).
  3. Click the Next button.

  1. Click the POP radio button in the Select the type of incoming server you are using area.

Note: If your version of Netscape Mail has a Server Type drop-down list, choose POP Mail Server.

  1. In the Incoming Server field, type pop3.ivenue.com
  2. In the Outgoing Server (SMTP) field, type smtp.ivenue.com.

    Note: Some ISP's require that you always use their SMTP servers. Ask your ISP if you are not sure.
  3. Click the Next button.

  1. In the User Name field, type your full email address (e.g., sample@yourdomain.com).
  2. Click the Next button.

  1. In the Account Name field, type your full email address (e.g., sample@yourdomain.com).
  2. Click the Next button.

  1. Click the Finish button.

  1. From the Edit menu, choose Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings.

  1. Select Outgoing Server (SMTP) in the Accounts list.
  2. Check the box next to Use name and password.
  3. In the User Name field, type your full email address (e.g., sample@yourdomain.com).

  4. Optional: If you would like to use both Netscape and webmail to check your e-mail, click on Server Settings, then check the box for Leave Messages on Server

  5. Click the OK button.

Note: When you first send an email, a window asking for your password will appear. Type your email password and click OK to continue.
